Orchestra of the Baroque was founded in April 2003 by Armonico Consort. It draws exclusively from the Europe’s finest players to form a first-class period instrument orchestra. Although it works principally with Armonico Consort, in concerts, tours, operas, broadcasts and recordings, Orchestra of the Baroque is much in demand by other choirs.
Over the past years, engagements have seen it perform in Italy, Israel and Ireland at the Barbican, and at the following festivals: Brighton, Salisbury, Warwick, Thaxted, Beaminster, Norfolk and Norwich, Chelsea, Hampton Court Palace, Harrogate, The Three Choirs at Worcester, Poole, and many more. The orchestra often performs regularly with the greatest artists of our generation, including Nicola Benedetti, Emma Kirkby, Crispian Steele Perkins and Jennifer Pike.

Its schedule for 2008 onwards include tours to Italy, Ireland and Israel, and performances of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and Mozart's Marriage of Figaro at festivals everywhere with Armonico Consort Opera.
